Selling a Starlink is entirely possible, especially if you properly prepare the equipment and choose a convenient location. Here's how it might work in practice, using the example of selling a Starlink REV4 kit from Poland to a buyer in Croatia through the Vinted platform.
How I Sold My Starlink REV4
⭐️ Here's a free month of Starlink! Starlink's high-speed internet is perfect for streaming, video calls, and gaming, even in the most remote corners of the world.
I decided to sell my Starlink REV4 kit after I stopped using it. New equipment is significantly more expensive, so even a used one is of interest, especially in countries where delivery or availability is limited.
I posted an ad on Vinted, stating its condition and describing it as fully functional. The $200 price proved attractive—a buyer from Croatia was found fairly quickly.
Vinted is a popular European online platform for buying and selling items, primarily clothing, but also electronics, accessories, and even appliances. It's especially convenient for private sellers: no store creation required, and transactions are processed through a built-in payment and security system.
What is Vinted and how does it work?
Vinted is a C2C (person-to-person) platform where users:
- Post ads for free
- Communicate directly via chat
- Receive payment through a built-in system
- Ship goods through integrated delivery services
The buyer pays for the goods plus transaction protection, and the seller receives payment only after confirmation of receipt.
Which countries does Vinted operate in?
The platform is actively developing in Europe and is already integrating several markets into a single system. As of 2026, Vinted is available in the following countries:
Main markets:
- Poland
- Germany
- France
- Italy
- Spain
- Netherlands
- Belgium
- Austria
Additional:
- Portugal
- Lithuania (the platform's home country)
- Estonia
- Luxembourg
- Croatia
How international sales work
One of Vinted's strengths is its unified markets. This means:
- A seller from Poland can sell to a buyer from Croatia
- Shipping is calculated automatically by the system
- The platform offers available logistics options
- Money is "frozen" until the transaction is completed
This is how you can easily sell, for example, equipment abroad, as is the case with Starlink.
Restrictions and nuances
- Not all countries are directly connected (there are regional clusters)
- Some product categories may have restrictions (for example, large appliances)
- There is no commission for the seller, but there is buyer protection
Why Vinted is convenient
- Easy listing
- No sales commission
- Transaction protection
- Convenient international delivery
- Large audience in Europe
Vinted is an excellent option if you want to quickly and securely sell an item not only within your own country but also throughout Europe.
Preparing Starlink for sale
Before selling, it is important not only to wipe (clean) the device, but to completely "zero" it to avoid problems for the new owner.
Cleaning and inspection
- Wipe the antenna (dish), cables, and router
- Check that everything is working: connection, power, signal
- Make sure everything is included (cables, power supply, stand)
How to reset a Starlink router
To clear all settings:
- Connect the router to the network;
- You can perform a factory reset from the app or by pressing the Reset button;
- Press and hold the Reset button until the reset occurs (Gen 3 router);
- Quickly power cycle the router 6 times in a row, 2-3 seconds apart (Gen 2 router);
- After this, the router will reset to factory settings.
It will create a new Wi-Fi network as it did the first time it was launched.
How to unlink a Starlink account
This is a critical step. Without it, the buyer will not be able to activate the device.
- Log in to your account on the SpaceX website (Starlink section)
- Find your kit
- Click "Transfer" / "Transfer Device"
- Confirm unlinking
After this, the device will be available for registration by the new owner. You should see the message "Starlink Ready for Transfer" and can optionally enter the new owner's email address.
If you don't do this, the device is effectively "locked."
Post an ad on Vinted
I did the following:
- Added real photos (not from the internet)
- Indicated the condition: "used, fully functional"
- Described the kit and model (REV4)
- Indicated that the account was unlinked
Important: Honesty builds trust and speeds up the sale.
How I shipped the Starlink to Croatia
A buyer was found from Croatia, and the transaction went through Vinted's security system.
What I did:
- Securely packaged the antenna (it's the most fragile part)
- Used the original box and additional protection
- Sent via the platform's suggested DHL delivery
How to protect yourself when selling
Here are the key points:
- Use a secure platform
Vinted holds your money until you confirm receipt of the item — this reduces the risk of fraud.
- Don't use in-person payments
If the buyer asks for a "bypass" payment, that's a red flag.
- Record the condition of the product
Take a photo of the kit and serial numbers before shipping—this will help in case of a dispute.
- Include the serial number.
You can partially obscure it in the photo, but keep a record of it.
Selling Starlink is a simple process if:
- reset the device correctly
- unlink your account
- describe the product honestly
- use a secure platform
My kit sold for $200 without any problems, and the buyer was happy — he simply registered the device and started using it.
